Just days to go until Davos 2026 during World Economic Forum: Championing a strong Europe in a multipolar world.
The countdown is on. In just a few days, the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 kicks off, and I am heading to Davos with a sense of immense anticipation and confidence.
In an era defined by rapid digitalization and a shifting multipolar landscape, my mission is clear: to advocate for a strong, resilient, and sovereign Europe. We cannot afford to be mere observers of global change; we must be the architects of our own digital and economic future.
The 2026 agenda is set to be one of the most pivotal in recent years. With global leaders and visionaries converging, the "Spirit of Dialogue" has never been more vital. I am particularly looking forward to the debates involving:
Global Leadership: Perspectives from Donald Trump, Javier Milei, and Ursula von der Leyen on navigating the friction between national interests and global cooperation.
Economic Stability: Vital insights from Christine Lagarde and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on strengthening European competitiveness.
Global Ethics & Innovation: High-level discussions with António Guterres on global security and leaders from the tech industry on the responsible scaling of AI.
The challenges are significant—from securing sustainable growth to mastering the "Intelligent Age"—but so are the opportunities. I am eager to engage in the tough conversations and collaborative efforts required to ensure Europe remains a leading force in this new global order.
I look forward to connecting with friends, colleagues, and new partners in the mountains. Let’s turn dialogue into action!

The European Institute for Future Generations (EIFG) is an independent research and educational institute and a pro-European think tank. Our mission is to address the opportunities and challenges of the AI and digital age in a way that ensures Europe's freedom, prosperity, traditional values, and democratic, rules-based order remain secure in the long term. We need new answers to rising internal tensions and the eroding self-image of the Western value system.
We want to empower young generations to become digitally literate and open up future prospects that combine economic dynamism with social responsibility. In doing so, we are guided by the model of the social market economy and a lean, subsidiary state. The right impetus must be provided for a resilient, defensible social order.
Key questions:
- How can we reduce our dependence on digital infrastructures?
- How can young generations remain empowered in times of manipulation via social media?
- How can we rethink democracy and political systems in a modern way to protect freedom?
- How can we strengthen our resilience in hybrid warfare scenarios such as geopolitically motivated cyberattacks?
- How can we counteract the division, ideologization, and radicalization of today's Internet society?
- How can we secure prosperity and order, reunite Europe in diversity, and create a sustainable identity for our continent between the world powers of the US and China?
Our focus areas:
Technology at the service of Europe:
We analyze and promote the responsible use of digital and decentralized innovations so that Europe can maintain and strengthen its sovereignty even in times of geopolitical tensions, growing dependencies, and in the age of AI and the new industrial revolution.
Politics, economy, and security:
From Munich and Brussels, we contribute to economic and financial policy issues as well as foreign and security policy—always with the aim of giving our continent a strong position as an equal partner on the world stage.
Identity and values:
Building on the foundation of Christian-Jewish cultural history, we develop perspectives for a value-driven Europe that can compete globally while remaining true to its cultural identity. In times of social media and synthetic actors, personal, human encounters, a commitment to humanity, and a natural sense of home and environment are essential.
